 It looks as though Oprah has recently had her defining moment , as she talks about her disappointment at putting on forty pounds in weight since 2005. She is more determined than ever to find a way to overcome her weight issue. And if her chart is anything to go by – she may just succeed this time around. So why is that?
From as astrological perspective the key seems to be down to Pluto and its movement over her Ascendant in recent months. Pluto has been moving backwards and forwards over this point for some time now – over a year – and this would have coincided with a need to take control of her life and redefine her priorities. This is a very important transit, that ultimately offers the chance to be more consciously aware of the way she uses her personal power, and where and how it is being syphoned away.

 Amy Winehouse seems to be looking happy and healthy as she continues to enjoy a long vacation in the Caribbean with her mother Janis and friends. She has been putting on weight and looks better than she has in some time. She has also been seen with her arms around new boyfriend actor Joshua Bowman – joking and enjoying a laugh, and far away from her husband Blake Fielder-Civil who is currently in jail.
This is in stark contrast to the last couple of years when she lost a lot of weight and was battling with drugs and ill health, including the lung disease emphysema.

 This is a relationship that is causing a lot of speculation - quite naturally. Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton have been close ever since his University days. Apart from a brief split – they are still an item, although no one seems quite sure what is going on. Will Kate ever get that engagment ring on her finger – or is she happy to go with the flow?
There are some interesting dynamics going on between them as reflected in their charts. Kate is a Capricorn and William a Cancer and they both have Cancer Moons. Capricorns are not backwards in coming forwards especially when they know what they want. The astonishing thing about Kate is that she always wanted to be close to Prince William and apparently had his picture pinned up on her bedroom wall as a young girl.  Cheryl Cole member of the Girls Aloud band and judge on the X-Factor is keen to have a baby with husband Ashley Cole despite the precariousness of their relationship.
Cheryl is a Cancerian and has Mars in Cancer too. She has a very maternal streak, so having a child would bring a great sense of fulfillment. But why does it have to be now? Transiting Pluto in Capricorn is opposing her natal Mars in Cancer – so once again Pluto’s movement into Capricorn is pushing some buttons (see previous post too). This transit has been in operation since February 2008 and is one that has five sequences. It’s influence is going to extend right to the end of 2009 with the transit being exact for the last time in October 2009.

Barack and Michelle Obama and their move to a lifestyle so different they may wonder what hit them. OJ Simpson is off to jail. Britney is making a forced comeback. And a creeping unrest is being felt in a number of circles.
Could the Pluto factor be be partly to blame? When planets are in the early degrees of a new sign they pack a powerful punch, especially if they happen to aspect natal planets or trip any big aspect patterns.
