What has been happening in Kate’s chart that might have precipitated this? Part of the problem may be that she is a very strong women. She looks as though butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. But with natal Pluto conjunct her Sun and Moon in Libra and on the Ascendant, she is very definitely in charge.

This aspect alone may be enough to cause drama and control battles in any relationship – with the potential to bring them to an early end. Kate is like a force of nature – future suitors beware!

Couple this with her natal Uranus being in square to Venus and she has a detached approach to love and sex – experimental too! Meanwhile Mars her relationship planet is in flirtatious Gemini and trines her natal Uranus in Scorpio. She is attracted to men who are educated and unpredictable – as is Sam.  She can also be quite unpredictable herself.

A look at her transits reveals that transiting Uranus in the sixth, and in her work zone has been aspecting her natal Mars in Gemini and that Saturn has been squaring it too. The ongoing Saturn/Uranus opposition means that Mars has had a battering from both planets. And as Mars is an indicator of her relationships and of the man in her life – it is this area of her life which has suffered and the cause – her job. She was working on Revolutionary Road which is a very Uranian title – a movie about a crumbling relationship, which seemed to mirror her own life situation. The film was being directed by her husband Sam,  and involved sex scenes between Kate and her long time friend and Titanic co-star  - Leonardo DiCaprio.

Saturn is going to be moving over her natal Sun/Moon/Pluto conjunction in Libra during October and November of this year, which is going to put a lot of pressure on her. She may need to pace herself from September on into 2011 in order to be able to handle all her commitments.  But Kate is a survivor – she will come out of all of this reborn – rising like a phoenix from the ashes.

Sam Mendes is a Sun Leo with a major focus on the sign of Virgo. He has Uranus conjunct Pluto in Virgo in opposition to Saturn in Pisces – so he too can blow hot and cold and enjoys plenty of drama. As there is no time of birth for Sam his Moon position is uncertain as is his Ascendant and other angles and houses of the chart. Pluto may have been squaring his Moon – the question is whether this has already happened, is about to happen or currently ongoing. This aspect would also coincide with major changes associated with the women or woman in his life.

It is said she now wants to divorce Sam Mendes, and is devastated as she had hoped their marriage would be for life.

Kelly is the second child of three of rocker Ozzie Osbourne and his wife Sharon, Aimee being the oldest and Jack the youngest. As the world has watched her grow up, she has shown herself to be a wild child with a mind and ideas of her own.

She is a natural rebel with a strong personality – and her strength, which may have been seen as stubbornness, may soon begin to work in her favour.

Kelly is a Sun Scorpio as you might have guessed with her fondness for black clothes, black eye makeup and black hair. She didn’t only inherit this from her father – she has this inside of her as well. But aside from this she also has Pluto in Scorpio conjunct her Sun which makes her a Scorpio to the power of a hundred.

Actually she has a major focus on the signs of Scorpio and Sagittarius, with Jupiter and Mars in Capricorn, as a perfect counterpoint.

Kelly is always going to be a law unto her self, and she cares very little what other people think about her. In one of her typically forthright quotations she says, ‘America is obsessed with physical perfection. In America people thought I was ugly, but I would rather be what they consider ugly than what they consider beautiful. I don’t want to be perfect, I want to be an individual’.

Those with a strong Scorpio bias tend to live life in their own way with very little need for approval.

For years she has refused to conform to the slim and slender look of the typical celebrity. That is until recently when she allegedly developed thyroid disease, which meant that she naturally lost a lot of weight. From 2006 she seems to have been losing weight steadily and looking really good as a result. She has great bone structure, which she seems to have inherited from Sharon.

She was preparing herself for a role on stage in the West End musical Chicago, which required that she be a lot slimmer. To her credit she managed this, whether it really was due to a thyroid condition or not.

Another reason for her weight loss may be because she is happier than she has been in some time. She is very much in love with Luke Worral her current boyfriend, who is a model. Kelly reveals that when she is sad or bored she eats to feel better – but now she doesn’t need to. However Kelly insists that after watching her mother battle with bulimia and the destruction this caused – she is never going to become the victim of an eating disorder.

The powerful focus on the sign of Scorpio means that she can all too easily succumb to self-sabotage. When Scorpios aren’t happy they can become destructive and the one who suffers most out of it all is often themselves. For Kelly her most destructive habit has been her overuse of drugs, alcohol and painkillers.

Kelly not only has her Sun conjunct Pluto in Scorpio, she also has Mercury conjunct Saturn in Scorpio. Where people may get the wrong impression of her is down to her Gemini Ascendant. With Mercury conjunct Saturn in Scorpio in the fifth, she may be good at talking about anything and everything except what is really on her mind.

When Mercury conjuncts Saturn there may be a feeling of inferiority associated with intellectual ability. In a situation in which her mother and father have been through a rollercoaster marriage, her father Ozzy being wild and excessive in more ways than one, she has survived – but not without damage . Surprisingly Kelly insists that she is not the way she is because of her parents. However the astrological link is very apparent.

She first shot to fame when MTV shot a fly on the wall documentary of life with the Osbournes. It involved Sharon and Ozzy, herself and brother Jack. Her sister Aimee did not want to be involved. Since then she has tapped into the fame factor brought about by this, using her new found notoriety to kick start her singing career.

Kelly has not lived a sheltered life. For much of the time that the public has known her, she has been the most famous teenager in the world – doing a whole host of things that many teenagers would love to be able to do, and many that they should not.

Although she is aggressive and loud-mouthed she is also quite shy at times – and insecure. She has a lot more depth than people give her credit for and is currently putting all of her experience with drugs and rehab to good use by taking part in the The Surgery – a programme on BBC 1 Radio that gives help and advice on key issues.

Despite Ozzy and Sharon’s reputation they insist they have made Kelly aware of right and wrong, and she says that her parents aren’t as dysfunctional as everyone claims they are.

Kelly has a real ability to help those in trouble to turn their lives around – and this aspect of her may come more to the fore in the future. Meanwhile with so much focus on Scorpio in her chart, she has a powerful desire to dig deep into the well of life and the experiences that are available, and this she certainly has done.

Kelly has her Moon in Sagittarius in the sixth house of her chart. She needs her work and her lifestyle to be fun, adventurous and challenging. She does not appreciate being bored, in fact she can’t stand it.

Her Moon makes a semi-square to her Sun/Pluto conjunction so she can get rather carried away and do things to excess. However with this combination in her chart she is truly determined and won’t let anything get in the way of what she wants to do. If she has a goal in mind she will reach it.

But she can also be swing between being very intense and almost too flippant – from one to the other. However as life for her is always going to be very intense her Sagittarian Moon does provide some light relief. She loves to laugh and enjoys a good joke.

With Saturn in Scorpio and so much focus on her fifth house any man who gets close to her is going to be someone quite brave – or outrageous, or perhaps both. She is quite capable of flirting, but once she gets serious about someone then she really is serious. Getting past that Saturn in Scorpio defence system is not going to be at all easy. She does have Venus conjunct Uranus in Sagittarius as well, so she is enjoys either casual dates or heavy relationships – there seems to be no in between point. Either way anyone dating her would need to tread with care.

It must have been quite difficult for someone with such a focus on Scorpio to have the MTV cameras on her twenty four hours a day. Scorpios are not comfortable with such things, and the stress of being so exposed to the world with no privacy may have been another factor in her need for rehab in April 2004.

The documentary began in March 2002 and ran until 2005. During 2002 Kelly had transiting Saturn moving through the twelfth house of her chart, crossing over her Ascendant in July of 2002.

Saturn in the twelfth house has the effect of bringing all the skeletons out of the family closet. It may have been quite humiliating for her in some ways, although she would never have let on. The shadow side of her personal and family life was exposed for all the world to see.

During 2002 Saturn in Gemini opposed her natal Venus/Uranus conjunction and later Moon in Sagittarius. However Saturn then moved on over her Ascendant. By this time, Kelly would have been feeling quite different about her new found fame. Saturn in the first house tends to encourage the putting on of a mask, whether she would have been aware of this or not. She may have become more defensive and more determined to hide her real feeling from the camera and the world.

It was during 2003 that Sharon was diagnosed with bowel cancer and this brought a huge change in the family situation. As Kelly said herself, instead of it bringing everyone together, it pushed them apart. Sharon was determined to carry on with the show even whilst she having chemotherapy. She wanted the world to know what it meant to have cancer and that it could be healed.

During 2003 Kelly’s transiting Pluto conjuncted her natal Moon in Sagittarius which would have coincided with this event.
This must have been quite a traumatic time, and everyone in the family seemed to cope in their own way. Ozzy turned to drink, Kelly tuned to painkillers, and Jack locked himself up in his room. Kelly and her sister Aimee did not get on at all well due to the stress of the situation.

That this coincided with her Pluto/Moon transit meant that she suddenly became aware of the fact that her mother was mortal – and of the possibility that she could die. This transit lasted until the end of 2003 but the effects would be felt for some time into the future. It was in 2004 that she admitted her addiction to painkillers and went into rehab in Malibu. Almost a year later she still hadn’t got over it and checked into another rehab facility in Pasadena California.

Her sister Aimee is a Virgo – with a powerful Pluto/Saturn conjunction in her chart. Pluto is in Libra and Saturn at 0 degrees Scorpio, so she too has a powerful punch in her chart. During the bowel cancer episode her transiting Uranus aspected this conjunction, bringing powerful emotions to the surface in her life too.

As for Jack who is another Scorpio, transiting Saturn opposed his natal Neptune in Capricorn and squared his Moon in Virgo, after which it moved into the twelfth, whilst Uranus moved into his eighth.

Ozzy had Pluto trine natal Pluto over 2002 and Uranus trine natal Uranus over 2003 which may have coincided with a return to drinking.
Kelly admitted that it was a dark time for all, but she wouldn’t allow herself to be seen crying on the cameras. That Scorpionic self-control was in place.

Thankfully Sharon was given the all clear after her treatment, but the effect of her illness left scars within the family unit which lingered on for some years.

As far as her parents go, Kelly says that they are pretty much like any other parents who love their kids and want them to have the best. Despite Ozzy’s own excesses he is very protective of his daughters.

One noticeable point about the charts of the Osbourne family and the interactions between them, is that they all have powerful natal aspects and inter-aspects, which makes everyday a drama in one way or another.

Take Kelly’s relationship with Ozzy for instance. They get on wonderfully well in certain respects. His Sun conjuncts her Venus/Uranus conjunction, so they enjoy a quirky and fairly unique relationship. On one level they are almost like friends – enjoying life and having fun being in each other’s company. His Mercury conjuncts her Venus – and makes a wide aspect to her Uranus, adding to the openness of their relationship.

But then there is another aspect of their relationship that is quite prohibitive. Ozzy’s Pluto trine’s Kelly’s Moon, and squares her natal Mercury/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio. His Saturn also sextiles her Sun and squares her Venus.

There are distinct boundaries and perhaps even defences in place here which cannot be crossed – or are overlooked at peril. It seems that Ozzy is more than willing to lay down the law to Kelly, who may respond by going more deeply into herself and probably determining that she is going to have her own way anyway. There is a point at which their views clash and both being headstrong it means that they may argue frequently and may even disagree violently with each other. Yet this interaction is a learning curve for them both.

Kelly is such a strong character that she isn’t going to let anyone get the better of her, even her father. In their composite chart these powerful forces can be seen. Composite Sun, Neptune, Venus and Mercury are all conjunct in Scorpio – and aspecting composite Pluto/Uranus conjunction in Virgo. The more they clash and disagree the more learn.

Her relationship with Sharon her mother is different. They seem to clash in a different way. In this case it is Sharon’s Venus that conjuncts Kelly’s Mercury/Saturn conjunction in Scorpio, suggesting that Sharon may experience a wall between herself and Kelly at times. Much as they love each other – Kelly does have this ability to close herself off when necessary and to disguise her real needs or issues.

Kelly’s Pluto trines Sharon’s Moon – so their interaction is quite intense in this way. It is almost as though Kelly feels she is looking after Sharon and wants to make sure she is OK. They certainly know how to push each other’s buttons, but there is a great bond which underlies all of this and keeps them together.

Then there is her relationship with brother Jack, who is a fellow Scorpio. Jack has had his fair share of problems including spells in rehab due to drugs and alcohol. Jack has Pluto, his Sun and Saturn in Scorpio so he is capable of the same self-destructive tendencies as Kelly. Jack has a Leo Ascendant and would enjoy being in the limelight, but the Sun, his ruling planet is in the fourth house, which suggests that may not be quite as much in the spotlight as he likes to be.

This time it is Jack’s Sun that is conjunct Kelly’s Mercury/Saturn conjunction, so there is something about their relationship that seems to rub Jack up the wrong way. However they also understand each other too well. As Scorpios they have the ability to home in on each other’s weak spots and know how to press each other’s buttons to perfection. They also have a real fondness for each other – a genuine love. The composite chart of their relationship has seven planets in Scorpio – so the interaction between them may be loaded. There is a lot of rivalry but again that deep family feeling which keeps them together despite the disagreements they have.

What Is Coming Up For Kelly?

Kelly will be twenty-five this year – and is growing up fast. She looks more like a women and less like the rebellious brat that everyone suspected her of being. However it may take some time yet for her to grow out of this stage completely, if she ever does. Her progressed Sun is going to be moving out of Scorpio  and into Sagittarius which is going to usher in a new phase for her. She will be keen to make her place in the world and may be actively examining her beliefs about life.

Her progressed Moon will be moving to conjunct her progressed Sun – which means she is going to experience a progressed New Moon in Sagittarius shortly after her 26 birthday in early 2011. Until then her progressed Moon remains in Scorpio,  so there may be a few dramas that she needs to deal with over the coming year or so. Things may be intense – but she will be in her element. As the progressed Moon will also be in her fifth house, she needs to be careful that she doesn’t get back into self destruct mode as she did earlier in the year. When her progressed New Moon does happen it will be in Sagittarius and in her sixth house. This new phase will be linked with lifestyle changes which will include finding the work that she feels born to do, that has meaning and purpose for her. The search for meaning will become very important.

In terms of her transits she has been and continues to move through a time of major change. Transiting Pluto is currently forming a sextile to her natal Pluto – she is moving through the final phase of this at the end of November. Pluto will then sextile her natal Sun in the fifth – the first part of which will happen in early February.  As Pluto is in her seventh house it suggests that she is currently learning a lot about being in an ongoing relationship and what this entails. It also reveals that whatever is going on with Luke Warrell, it is very intense and this intensity is part of who she is. The experience of being in love may be changing her more than any other factor in her life to date.  She is questioning many things about herself and this in itself is helping her to move on in those areas of life that have been problematic.

Transiting Uranus it currently about to move into her tenth house, which is encouraging her to experiment with a number of interesting opportunities. This isn’t the time for her to settle, but a chance to find out what works and what doesn’t. She is going to have learned so much once this phase is over, and will have a much better idea of what she wants to do with her life. As it is likely to be moving through this area for many years – we may see Kelly trying her hand at some bold, outrageous, cutting edge and at times unbelievable projects.

With transiting Saturn moving through her fourth house for the next couple of years or so, this is the time when she will be laying down the foundations for her future successes. It is a chance to find her inner balance and to perfect the relationship with herself, so that she can better relate to others and to the world at large. As Saturn moves to oppose Uranus twice over 2010, it may coincide with a need to grow strong roots to better handle the many changes in her career life that are coming her way.

Saturn in the fourth is also an opportunity to work on healing family related issues by working on acceptance and release of inner feelings that may still need to be acknowledged. If she can do this many positive changes will come about as a result.

It may be too soon for Kelly to think of getting married – she is still moving through many changes. But come 2011 it may be more of a possibility – more on this soon…

Kelly has the ability to be a powerful force in the world and though she is still young – she could do a lot of good work by helping those who have been through tough times – especially the younger generation.

Don’t underestimate her, whatever she may have been,  she is going to be so much more in the future.

Perhaps he needed time to grow up – as he may have taken her for granted in certain respects. Harry has a wide conjunction between Mars and Uranus, so he tends to act first and think later.  This is one side of him. There is another side where he can be something of a dark horse especially when it comes to revealing his true feelings.

Saturn is his ruling planet, and it is in the sign of Scorpio in the eleventh – which suggests that he may play hard to get or hard to keep as this blend of influences can cause havoc in relationships unless there is an awareness of what is going on. Chelsy also has Saturn in Scorpio so their ability to be truly comfortable with each other may take a while to develop.  They may have been playing cat and mouse with each other is subtle ways.

Imagine a couple of Scorpions circling each other – both naturally defensive and ready to strike first in order to fend off a supposed attack. If they succeed in learning to trust each other and can find a way to regularly discuss their vulnerable feelings they may be able to develop a very deep and truly loving relationship – one that will last the test of time. But if this is going to happen they need to pace themselves and take it all very slowly. The fact that they are willing to talk is an excellent sign.

They may fall in and out of love a few more times as their love life will naturally encompass all ranges of feeling which includes love and hate – but if they can accept these extremes they will be able to create partnership which may be the envy of others who cannot access the same depth of feeling.

Over 2009 both have had some interesting transits which are still in progress. Chelsy has had transiting Uranus in opposition to her natal Venus in Virgo, whilst Harry has had transiting Uranus  in opposition to his Sun. Both have needed space to do their own thing, to experiment with other relationships and to reflect on what they really want. Fast forward another nine months or so and we will have a better idea of which way this is going.

But would you also guess that Simon is a Libra, with his Sun, Mars and Mercury in this balanced and supposedly peace loving sign? This may be surprising if we don’t take a closer look at the sign of Libra and what it is and isn’t.

Libra is an air sign, which means that Librans tend to be more detached from their feelings and able to view life and relationships from a bird’s eye perspective. Librans are also able to judge fairly without discrimination, and we all know how much Simon enjoys doing that.

The sign of Libra is linked with justice and the sword of truth. As well as enjoying partnerships, Librans often have a natural ability to take a host of factors into account and make reasoned pronouncements based on their style of logic.

Simon finds it hard to say anything other that what he is thinking at the time – even if this does make him unpopular. He once read a page of comments about himself and realized how passionately the audiences disliked him. He says he almost changed and started to become much ‘nicer’, but then realized this really wasn’t his style.

So how does Simon Cowell shape up in the romance stakes? We don’t have his exact time of birth, but can still get a fair idea of his major characteristics in this area. Simon was last dating girlfriend Terri Seymour but they split up in November 2008, and he is currently single.

We know that he is picky and critical in the extreme, and this could certainly impinge on his love life. He has Venus in Virgo conjunct Pluto – and this makes him very intense and very passionate about everything, and possibly a pain to live with. He is not the kind of person who will ignore anything that irritates him. He will make a fuss until it is sorted out. There is no doubt that he is a control freak, which is not going to make life around him particularly easy. He apparently has an allergy to marriage!

Pluto/Venus aspects don’t tend to have such good press overall. Unsurprisingly this blend of influences can coincide with a craving for attention – and sometimes it doesn’t matter whether the attention is of a positive or negative kind. As long as he is not being ignored! There can also be something quite obsessive about this combination. People either love him or hate him, or really love to hate him – but you can’t forget he is there – he won’t let you.

His desire for success is probably more pronounced then his desire to enjoy a warm and happy relationship. He is another star who is most certainly married to his job. But one thing that is sweet about Simon is that he is really makes an effort to stay friends with his ex-lovers. They still seem to hang around him like honey bees.

Another powerful aspect is a sextile between Mars in Libra and Uranus in Leo – which means that he also lacks patience. Mars/Uranus aspects need some tempering if they are going to be used at their best. Otherwise there can be an adolescent streak that runs through the personality of anyone with this combination. It consists of wanting everything now, otherwise they may just have a tantrum. Once again in a love relationship this combination may not go down too well,.

Mars in Libra can be the peacemaker, but can just as easily upset the apple-cart and then enjoy the resulting mayhem – Simon falls into the latter category.

Uranus in Leo coincides with a need for ongoing self-gratification – which manifests in his love of life in the fast lane. Simon isn’t about to change his spots that quickly. But friends have also mentioned how generous he is. He doesn’t hang onto his money and loves to share his good fortune with others. This is something that would be greatly appreciated in a love relationship.

Simon is not a traditionalist, he prefers to do everything his own way – another trait of Mars sextile Uranus. He says that he not romantic in the normal sense, and dislikes Valentine’s Day because he prefers to show his affection all round year, not when the marketing forces dictate this should be . The same goes for Christmas and other occasions. He prefers to live from day to day and if he happens to want to purchase a present for his lover, or tell her how much he cares – he will. If not he won’t!

He does have his Moon and Jupiter in Sagittarius, which enables him to laugh at himself. He feels that it is important not to take oneself too seriously as this can ruin everything. He discovered this for himself and this may be his key to working with his obsessive tendencies – as long as he can see it all in perspective he knows he can survive.

Venus conjunct Pluto is also synonymous with great wealth or poverty and Simon has known both. Currently he is in line to overtake Oprah Winfrey as the most highly paid presenter on American Television. But there was a time when he went bust and claims he only had three pounds left in his pocket to get a cab back to his parents place.

His Moon in Sagittarius means that underneath it all he can see the funny side of his fame. He may have a philosophical streak which brings him comfort in times of difficulty and helps him to stay optimistic when the chips are down.

Jupiter in Sagittarius is another bonus for him, as it means that he gets the full benefit of this lucky planet. If he is prepared to work hard, it will bring him many opportunities and streaks of luck just when he might need them.

Saturn reveals where his greatest fears may lie and where he feels most vulnerable. He has Saturn in Capricorn, very early in the sign, and this is where it is most at home. It is this influence which may lead to his incredible sense of ambition. He is not content to graze at the bottom of the mountain, he wants to reach the top and it seems that because of all his hard work, he has won through. He also admitted in an interview in the Daily Mail in May 2009 that he suffers from ‘dark moods and miserable thoughts’, and they come upon him at any time even when things are going well. He apparently gets very anti-social, depressed and irritable with people. He has even considered therapy.

Meanwhile looking ahead for Simon will there be any chance of wedding bells ever or never?

His progressed chart reveals that his progressed Moon has moved into Libra  whilst his progressed Sun has entered Sagittarius – so relationships are on his mind in one form or another. Hopefully it isn’t just his relationship with his money that turns out to be the most important in his life. If there is an adventure and more success on the horizon he will be there like a shot. Having had his progressed Sun in Scorpio for thirty or so years, the move to Sagittarius may brighten his act and mean that he becomes less intense, even if this is minimally so.

This year Simon’s progressed Moon will conjunct his progressed Sun, which means he is on the verge of a progressed New Moon in Libra. This could be significant as relationships may develop in strength and continue to do so through this latest progressed Moon cycle. He may find himself involved in relationships that last longer than many of his previous ones. A seed may be planted and something could well come out of it.

He also has a major transit going on at this time as transiting Pluto conjuncts his natal Saturn in Capricorn – which means that the structures in his life are going to change quite dramatically. He will have to let go of issues that have caused him pain in the past – actually this would be a good year for him to get some therapy – he could really benefit at this time. Pluto/Saturn aspects can also be quite painful – so he may have to endure more of those black moods. But if he really does make an effort to change he could come through this period transformed.

Over 2010 Pluto trines his natal Pluto and his Venus, so more change, more potential unleashed and more passion – perhaps there is a relationship coming up after all.

Simon is not the kind of person who will rest on his laurels after achieving so much fame and notoriety – he is always looking for the next big adventure. The next couple of years look as though they will bring even more success – he is not going to stop now. They will also reveal the true mettle of the man in terms of his love life. Stay tuned!

So how does Peter cope with  this? How does he really feel about it all? Peter is a Pisces and so equally capable of enigmatic behaviour. He appears to know what he wants, but can sometimes be his own worse enemy. He has his natal Sun in Pisces in square to Neptune in Sagittarius, and this makes him even more prone to the very best and worst of Pisces. Mercury is also in Pisces, so he does need to remain alert at crucial junctures in his life.

This combination of energies can be difficult to handle as it means he has a sense of compassion and deep understanding of other people’s predicaments, but hecould drown in those perilous waters. The illusive currents involved in this combination can drag anyone down to the depths unless they learn to become aware and not to fall asleep at the helm.

In Peter’s case it seems that relationships can be both his making and his downfall. His Sun squares Saturn and Saturn also opposes Neptune. So his Sun is also at the apex of a T-square, which offers him the choice of staying cocooned in his fantasies, or learning about reality the hard way. He may seesaw between these two options and wonder when his boat is finally going to sail into smoother and more peaceful waters.

Peter does have Mars in Capricorn which at least helps him to channel his energy in the practical sense. But he also needs to be careful to choose the right path in the first place. Mars in Capricorn is very ambitious, and when it also squares Pluto in Libra, it shows that he can be very determined to get what he wants, whatever it takes.

Though he has watery elements in his chart, there are actually more planets in air, which enable him to adopt a detached perspective when necessary.

His Moon could be in Capricorn or Sagittarius as there is no exact time for his birth either. But it also squares Pluto which can mean that as well as being compassionate, he is also capable of being quite ruthless at times – depending on how things are going.

Katie has a different set of issues – as she has Mars and Saturn in Leo, and both are in trine to Neptune. Saturn in Leo can often crave attention and can overcompensate for fears of being insignificant by becoming larger than life. As both planets aspect Neptune, it shows that she is not adverse to using fantasy, especially with regard to the media, to get the attention she needs. As a glamour model she has used this side of her personality to the max, and has certainly become one of the best known in the country for a number of reasons.

So how do they get on together? Kate is defensive because she has been hurt in the past, and this can encourage her to lash out before anything has happened, as a kind of reflex action against being hurt again.

There is no doubt that Katie will do whatever she has to, to salvage her pride in any situation in which she feels she might be losing it. Peter, out of the two of them, is the one that could be most cutting, even though he appears so nice. Pluto in square to the Moon has an edge, especially if the Moon should happen to be in Capricorn.

Yet there is something that draws them together. They appeared to be very much in love. But then they are also more successful as a couple than they would be by going their own separate ways. So their relationship has become big business for both of them, judging by the number of times they appear in the celebrity magazines, and all the fly-on-the-wall programs they have become involved with.

Kate does have a genuinely homely side to her, with Venus and Jupiter in Cancer. But it is also somewhat ironic that Jupiter is the planet of expansion and that Cancer is associated with the breasts. Astrology at its literal best!

Venus is fairly weakly aspected, whilst Jupiter makes a weak square to Pluto. She does have a soft and very vulnerable side, but it is often disguised and may not show itself very often. She is far more sensitive to criticism than she makes out.

She also has Mercury in opposition to Uranus, so she enjoys stirring up controversy to generate publicity, and to gain attention. Yet she does have a sense of humour with it all, which has served her well in the past.

Looking at their inter-aspects they do appear to have a good rapport despite having their own particular issues. They seem to share a number of very sweet and quite pleasant links, such as her Sun squaring his Venus, and forming a trine to his Jupiter and Pluto. There is passion and fun and a genuine fondness for each other. It seems that Katie will be changed by Peter, and by the relationship itself. The fires of Pluto will make sure that she cannot remain as she was, she has to alter her identity and move forward.

They seem to be having a whole lot of fun together and enjoying the ride. One aspect shows that deeper and darker issues will certainly begin to arise as they get to know each other better. Her Pluto trines his Saturn, so in the ways that matter most, when it comes to issues of vulnerability and the shadowy areas that lie like unexplored territory in all relationships, Katie can push his buttons in the most awesome way possible. This part of the chart will certainly represent an area of learning in which they either knuckle down and grow up, or if the fire becomes to intense – find a way of out of the flames.

Their composite chart is quite well-structured and there is obviously a strong link between them. But it also throws up a few questions as well.

They have a stellium of planets in Aries with Mercury, Jupiter and the Sun in conjunction and Chiron and Venus also in conjunction. But composite Mercury, Jupiter and the Sun also square composite Saturn. What is an essentially warm and fun-loving relationship seems to have a hard edge, which may allude to the issue of their relationship also being something of a business affair. Saturn is in Cancer, so this is quite a contrast from the passion and fire of the conjunction to the somewhat defensive and instinctual qualities that represent another area of the relationship.

Saturn here also brings with it issues, which may put a damper on areas of their relationship. Saturn, in exact square to the Sun, highlights responsibilities and limitations which will shape their future in very direct ways.

Chiron and Venus both oppose Mars in Libra which certainly highlights the attraction and the tension between them, but also makes their personal wounds even more public. Sensitivity is needed by both parties so as not to inflame the sore spots. Mars is also conjunct Uranus which is rather an explosive mixture of energies, containing a great deal of sexual tension, and the potential for big arguments – so again they are treading on precarious ground. There is plenty of scope for sudden break ups, hurried ‘get-back togethers’ and all the torment and fun that goes with enjoying a high profile relationship.

As if to add more fuel to the mix, their composite Moon conjuncts composite Neptune, so fantasy seems to figure quite powerfully in the relationship. They may have been kidding themselves that they have both met the perfect partner and that their relationship would last forever. The days and weeks ahead are going to be crucial to what happens in the next chapter of their relationship.

Peter currently has transiting Uranus conjunct his natal Mercury in Pisces – which is going to be effective until March/April 2010. This coincides with making decisions on the spur of the moment – except that it isn’t quite as it appears. With Uranian transits it is often the case that the pressure has been building – a kind of nervy intensity, until finally something happens which pushes the person in question to snap. Enough is enough! Uranus/Mercury can put a lot of strain on the nervous system and the mental state may be a lot more sensitive than usual. It is like being wound up to a very high pitch – it makes these kind of decisions a lot more easy to understand. The guy needs a break – a long one. But once he has calmed down and feels more relaxed he may contemplate going back.

Katie may well have been enjoying an innocent night out with her dressage friend who is also gay - but to Pete it is all fuel to the fire. The straw that broke the camels back. However, Pete also has his Pluto/Pluto square coming up at the start of next year, and this too is going to bring a lot of emotional material to the surface. He will be feeling the inner pressure from this already. With this particular square life becomes very intense as deep, dark feelings begin to well up from the depths. The Pluto/Pluto square often coincides with major events in our lives that shake us to the core and at the same time encourage us to face our demons and transform them into allies.

So Pete may be merely juggling with the idea of divorce, or may even have decided this is what he wants. He may also think about going back into the relationship and working with a relationship counsellor along with Katie to sort out their issues and to try to make it work. Either way he will still have to face those buried issues that may have been with him since childhood, and find a way to acknowledge, heal and integrate them.

In Kate’s chart we can see an undermining of all she has built up, yet an ability to create something solid out of a chaos and profusion of events. Transiting Neptune opposes her natal Saturn, whilst transiting Saturn squares her natal Neptune. On the one hand she may feel bereft that all she has worked so hard for in terms of her image and brand are being reduced to nothing before her eyes. On the other she seems able to use this situation and even build upon it. So it is swings and roundabouts.

Of the two of them Pete seems to be experiencing the most intense transits which is why the urge to take action has been so strong for him.

So will they get back together? If they do Pete is going to want to make a few changes – mainly in Katie’s attitude. For his own sanity ( remember insania – the song he made up in the Australian outback when he first met Kate – it was a prophecy) – he has to take control of the reins and stand his ground in the relationship. He has taken the first important step of showing her he means business – but whatever transpires he is not going to go back to how things were. He has discovered that he has more power in the relationship than he thought and it is now time to claim this power and use it to create the life and relationship he wants. He is no longer going to take a back seat. This isn’t something that happens in a nice neat package though – it is often messy and there will be reversals and changes of heart, as he feels his way into the reality of becoming more empowered.

I am sure that Pete’s actions have shocked Katie for once – and she is now having to look at him in a whole new light. This is a transition point in their relationship, they have the option now to end it and walk away. Or they may find a deeper reason for being together and so want to renew their bond. Good luck to them – I think they’ll need it!

Apparently Sarah found Paris to be both ‘smart’ and ‘caring’. And Paris though that Sarah was ‘smart’, ‘beautiful’ and ‘inspirational’.

Paris is an Aquarian with her Sun conjunct Mercury retrograde, also in Aquarius. She has a Sagittarian Ascendant and her Moon in Leo in the eighth house.

She has Neptune conjunct her Ascendant in close aspect. Which is perhaps one of the reasons why she has survived in a scenario that most people would drown in.Neptune in this position means that she can hide behind a smoke-screen and yet appear to be all things to all people. They can project on her what they like and she seems able to contain their fantasy. Usually the Ascendant gives us a way of interacting with the world, which is quite defined. In Paris’s case there is no definition. She is like a chameleon that can take on any colour or hue – a contradiction on legs.

She is often seen as an air-head, but beneath that vacuous look there lies a very savvy business women, who says that she has no need of her inherited millions because she is making her money herself. She says she had no intention to be ‘famous’, she just wanted to be wealthy enough so that she didn’t have to rely on anyone – or wait around to marry the right person.

There is no birth time for Sarah Brown who is a Scorpio, with Mercury, Venus and Neptune all in the same sign. She looks very mild-mannered, but underneath that sweet exterior is a simmering pot of intense feelings and emotions. She has done a good job of hiding her passion for life from the world. She also has Mars in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Aries – making her something of a warrior-queen, mixed with a jolly hockey-sticks approach to life. She is made of tough stuff, yet knows how to smile despite any difficulties she may be facing. And she has been through some very traumatic times. Her first baby, Jennifer James died when she was only ten days old, and her third child, Fraser James was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, shortly after he was born. She has handled all of this with dignity and grace.

So why did they feel such an admiration of each other? It seems to be because they are such a contrast.  They struck up an immediate emotional bond – feeling very at home in each other’s company.

Paris’s Moon in Leo trines Sarah’s Jupiter in Aries, which suggests that their instant rapport may be based on an intuitive feeling that at a certain level they may have something in common, though they appear like chalk and cheese. Her Moon also squares Sarah’s Sun. Paris loves to be out in the limelight, and Sarah enjoys being something of a dark horse. Yet for some reason it works.

Paris’s Venus conjuncts Sarah’s Saturn in Aquarius, so it looks like they may even decide to stay in touch. Perhaps they have a few tips for each other! And Paris’s Jupiter/Saturn conjunction in Libra opposes Sarah’s Jupiter in Aries which again suggests a mutual fascination with each other’s lifestyle. In the composite chart of their relationship there is a very interesting T-square with Ceres at the apex in Virgo and Saturn in Sagittarius in opposition to the Moon in Gemini. This suggests that both of them may feel isolated in certain ways as public figures. They seem to nourish each other and can accept each other as they are.  There is also a powerful square between composite Mercury/Sun/Saturn in Capricorn and composite Pluto in Libra – which may also indicate that they are aware of the benefits that come from knowing each other.

Sarah may well be doing a lot more travelling as she has recently had a progressed New Moon in Sagittarius. As her birth time is not known this may be on the verge of happening or have recently passed. For now she seems to be enjoying her trips abroad, but when her progressed Sun moves into Capricorn they may take on a more serious and businesslike approach.

Sarah may be quiet but most people who meet her are struck by her elegance and her beauty. Paris was certainly smitten, so much so that it looks like they have become new best friends. An unlikely match – and an intriguing one.

Susan is an Aries with a Gemini Ascendant and her Moon in Libra. She was born shortly after the Full Moon.

Her natal Mercury in Pisces, her ruling planet, is in the ninth house and makes a trine to Mars in Cancer in the first and Neptune in Scorpio in the fifth. This watery trine is filled with feeling and Mercury in Pisces in particular seems to connect her via her faith in God to a place of transcendence – a connection which allows her to channel through the beauty of her voice a sense of the spiritual reality that underlies everything. Her voice has that timeless quality of purity and sweetness that reaches into the soul and opens the heart.

Mercury/Pisces/Neptune connections, especially in water means that the mind is often unfocused and open wide. Her natal Venus in Aries was retrograde at the time of her birth, and made a square to natal Saturn in Capricorn, just on the cusp of the eighth. This aspect seems to be linked with the sense of isolation that she experienced as a child and on into her adult years. Although she was the youngest child of six, she was always something of a loner. She was bullied at school which would have added to her lack of self-esteem and pushed her even further into her own world. She has never held down a job and has tended to shy away from too much company. She also admits to never having been kissed or having a boyfriend. Until her recent mini-makeover Susan was not concerned with her appearance and not bothered about changing it. Her unconventional image has also been a powerful part of her appeal.

Venus retrograde in square to Saturn in Capricorn in the eighth has something of an alchemical quality about it. Through pain and torment an inner strength has developed in Susan, which has given her a special quality despite her seeming so ‘ordinary’. She was not at all shy about telling Piers Morgan that she was very attracted to him, and has accepted his invitation to take her out to dinner. It is also interesting that Piers’ Mercury conjuncts her natal Venus in Aries, and his Mercury was also stationary retrograde when he was born. His Pisces Moon also conjuncts her Chiron in Pisces, and they both have their Sun in Aries – so they may have some interesting things to discuss.

She has also been swamped with letters and request from numerous would-be suitors, and with transiting Neptune aspecting her natal Venus over 2009 she may even fall in love.

It doesn’t even seem to matter if she wins the final of Britain’s Got Talent or not - and there is very real chance she may be pipped at the post. She is already a legend and her singing career has been launched almost overnight and will begin to grow and blossom from this point on – developing in strength as time goes by.

To millions who have felt let down by life and stranded by the tide, she has brought the realization that dreams really do come true. It is never too late!

On first glance at Anne Robinson’s chart it is hard to imagine that she has four planets in the cooperative and charming sign of Libra.

The TV presenter who has found international fame by playing the thin-lipped, poker-faced dominatrix on ‘The Weakest Link’, surely must be a Scorpio? She must have a good dose of power hungry and controlling Pluto aspects at least? No she hasn’t!

Not only this but her Sun exactly conjuncts Neptune, so she has a soft and very sensitive side which she takes great pains to protect.

Anne is a complex character who has not had an easy ride over much of her life. She seemed to have learnt a lot from her mother, who was a very strong women at a time when feminism was just being talked about and brought into the mainstream. She was an agricultural business woman and very successful. She also had a drink problem.

Anne has her Moon in Capricorn and Saturn in Cancer, which perhaps reveals something of the resourcefulness and the survival instinct inherited from this powerful women.

Not only did Anne’s mother make the family very wealthy, she also paid for her own very lavish wedding and honeymoon on the Riviera which was considered very exotic in those days.

Anne herself admits to having been terrified of her, as were most people. She was apparently a bully who detested other bullies, but no one had the nerve stand up to her.

The Moon in Capricorn is one of those placements that can be very difficult to deal with. The person with this influence in their chart often feels that getting real nurturing love from their mother is like getting blood from a stone. It’s there, but you have to jump through hoops and perform to the required standard to get even a drop. The love tends to be given in crumbs rather than being something that can be relied upon.

The only planet in the element of water happens to be Saturn in Cancer, which conjuncts her Ascendant just on the twelfth house side. Apart from this she has five planets in air, three in earth, and one in fire.

Her Cancer Ascendant adds to the overall shrewd and security orientated energy of the chart. Cancer is often described as an emotional and sensitive sign, but it seems to be emotion of a different order. Many crabs have a hard shell, (or access to another species shell), and they seem to survive defensively with all kind of biological properties that help then to interpret the world around them and act accordingly.

Cancerians have similar issues and also tend to rely on instinct to see them through life’s problems. From this point of view it can seem that they don’t have much emotional feeling at all and can come across as being very ruthless. It is often very difficult to get through their defences, and it can take a long time before they will really trust you.

It can be all or nothing with Cancers and as Anne also has Saturn conjunct her Cancer Ascendant this makes her even more prickly and defensive. You either get soft mass of oozing feeling which is overwhelming and smothering as Cancer’s protective urge surrounds you with their cupboard love, or you get the cold shoulder. Their moods go in phases along with the phases of the Moon and the changing Moon signs – so they can be very inconsistent in their consistency.

Anne was brought up with an Irish Catholic background, and attended a Roman Catholic Girls school in Merseyside. In the early stages of her life her free expression was rather inhibited. Experience has made her wary in her dealings with others, and rather taciturn in style. She has always taken her professional life very seriously, rising to the many challenges that arise during the course of her career. When she started out at eighteen she wanted to be famous, wealthy and did not want to run her own business.

Anne was very keen to become successful and not that keen to be a good mother and house wife. One notorious statement she came out with was that she would prefer to write a report of the Vietnam War than to vacuum her lounge. She began appearing on BBC Television in the 1980’s on Programs such as Point Of View and Watchdog, and she very much began to enjoy making the heads of large corporate companies quake in terror at her persistent questioning about their misdemeanours. Her planets in Libra contribute to her sense of fair play and to the fact that she was always on the side of the consumer being badly treated by unscrupulous money makers.

But if there is one issue in her life that has left her deeply wounded, that is that she lost custody of her only daughter Emma, when she was just over one year old. The trauma of divorce and of this loss meant that Anne sank into alcoholism and reached rock bottom. It was in 1973 when she was ending her relationship with Charles Wilson, her then husband, and the courts decided that she wasn’t fit to have Emma living with her on a permanent basis. Emma was looked after by her father.

Having her Sun conjunct Neptune in Libra is Anne’s personal weakest link. This conjunction meant she was a sensitive and impressionable person with a strong need to be able to define herself. She used her work and her marriages to give her life structure, but there was a part of her that wanted to escape the pain that the emotional side of her life was creating. Sun/Neptune conjunctions are associated with escapism and with addictive tendencies as a way of masking and numbing pain and therefore of not being responsible for the consequences.

Over 1972 and 1973 she certainly had some very powerful aspects in her chart. Uranus had conjuncted her Mars in Libra in the fourth house which must have coincided with the break up of the home. In 1973 Pluto was then transiting over her Sun/Neptune conjunction, and this seemed to be the trigger and the start of the real downward spiral. Pluto conjunct this very sensitive area would mean a journey of death and rebirth for Anne that would last until 1978.

Pluto will help to smash any illusions and expose forms of escapism, but not until you have drunk to the bottom of the cup. This dark period of her life caused a loss of identity and took away everything from her. It was only through the support of her friends and family that she came through it all. In 1978 she says that she was about to buy a bottle of Vodka in the supermarket when she saw the tears streaming down her daughter’s face and at that moment she gave up. Other people attribute her success to working through the Alcoholics Anonymous twelve step program – but Anne seems very cagey about admitting this.

Other aspects which add to her sense of insecurity and her inner pain are Saturn in square to her Sun and the Moon square her Mars. The square between the Sun and Saturn is rather wide, but still functional. This influence again adds to the image of a sober faced and rather emotionally inhibited person who tends to take life very seriously. Childhood experiences undermined her self-confidence, yet she had no choice but to succeed.

She managed to get into journalism by starting as a secretary and having an affair with the then Guardian sports editor. She then decided to marry her boss -Charlie Wilson. He seemed to think that she would stay happily at home and look after their daughter, but instead Anne decided to hire a nanny and found a job with the Sunday Times. This must be that canny Saturn in Cancer influence which will hang onto any opportunity with claws of steel in order to win security. In fact she really needed Saturn as a counterbalance to her Sun/Neptune conjunction as it lent her an instinctual ability to make the best out of every opportunity that came her way.

This is another factor that meant she had a strong need for approval, with love conditional on performance. Although she is known for her cutting remarks which can reduce grown men to tears and assign them to the therapists couch, she is probably her own worse critic and judges her own actions just as harshly. She is probably too dismissive when offered love and affection, and rather severe when giving it. Despite her authoritarian and workaholic approach to life, she does have high principles, and has no expectations of an easy life. She has worked hard to build up a secure structure in life for those she holds dear.

With her Moon in Capricorn square Mars in Libra, she was brought up in an atmosphere of tension which lacked balance. Much of her life and her struggles to succeed may have been due to a search for harmony and peace. This aspect coincides with the aggressive approach of her mother, and the many struggles involved in family life. She seems much more settled and happy now. Her marriage to Charles Wilson was a case in point as he tended to become extremely emotional and vehement. He would express his feelings passionately and intensely. However Anne was not the kind of person to stay quiet herself, she also had a fiery temper – never having experienced peace and calm in her early life – she recreated the very same atmosphere until she learnt to deal with her anger, or channel it effectively. However it always takes two to tango.

Expressions of anger rarely solve anything. It pays to be conscious of the reasons for anger, before it arises.

As she has matured, she has gained insight into her emotional nature, but she still enjoys being the provocateur in any ocean of calm. Those she works with say she can be a hellish employer, but as time goes on they somehow become very attached to her.

So what makes her such a keen TV presenter and game show host. For a start, her Moon in Capricorn trines Mercury and Chiron in Virgo. This is no doubt where she gets her very dry sense of humour – if you can call it that. In this instance her Chiron/Moon connection seems to be just as much about inflicting the wound as healing it. Or maybe she is continually recreating the original wounds received from the lashing end of her own mother’s tongue. Ann has learnt to keep a straight face whilst she communicates to hide the range of emotions that may be occurring just beneath the surface. With this complete lack of facial expression it is very hard to know when she is joking and when she is serious, and she enjoys this little game very much.

Her school years will also have had a great emotional impact on her, for better or worse. She would have been extremely sensitive to being criticised or misunderstood on a mental level.

Mercury conjuncts Jupiter in Virgo, so learning is a strong motivating factor in her life. This doesn’t always mean learning facts and information, but learning practical life skills that will help her to survive and get the most out of each day.

Learning languages, travelling and meeting people, are all important activities for her, because they give her the opportunity to train and expand her mind. She can be witty and a mine of information. On the other hand she may feel a strong need to impose her ideas and opinions on others, as her journalistic writings often revealed. She hates to be belittled mentally, and will compensate for this by becoming argumentative, or by dutifully trying to enlighten people about what the truth really is.

Another important influence is her is Mercury in square to Uranus. She has a very quick mind, and attracts attention through her ability to give conversations a surprising turn. She is quickly bored by conventional waffling and she is prepared to say anything, or repeat anything, to give conversation more interest. At times this tendency easily leads to confusion and misunderstandings in relationships. She has the habit of breaking the flow of communication – a habit she learned in childhood – and this leads to a rather stressful atmosphere in intimate relationships. When she gets bored in intimate relationships, she tends to say and do the opposite of what is expected, just to get results. She loves to make provocative statements. This can be exasperating for her partners.

She has both Mars and Venus in Libra in aspect to Uranus, which gives her a rather unique attitude to relationships. No doubt this came from early experiences of the relationship between her parents. The upbringing may be characterised by mixed messages as regards her own sexual identity – as her mother encouraged her to be fiercely independent. Her upbringing has evoked a tendency in her to be very detached and rather cool in the expression of love. She instinctively anticipates a sudden break of emotional bonds, and learned at an early age to be very self-sufficient.

Mars trine Uranus gives her that dynamism which means she is usually way ahead of the game. Perhaps it was this influence that encouraged her to walk naked into a bar, all except for a pair of high heels, pour a pint of bear over her boyfriend’s head and then climb on top of his car and start smashing the windscreen with her shoes. She needs excitement and she certainly knows how to create it. As a writer she does her best work when a deadline is threatening. When she decides to act, she strikes like lightning. However she is best at working in short bursts of energy. Longer periods of activity tire and bore her.

She has to have the freedom to experiment and learn from her own experiences. She is not very good at working in a team because she can react violently to being told what to do. She hates restrictions and orders and needs to go her own way. Other people experience her as rebellious and as having a tendency to get into trouble with authorities.

It already seems as though Anne has achieved everything she could possibly hope for. Her show has achieved cult status in the US as well as here, and her fame has reached around the globe. She is wealthy to the tune of 60 million pounds and rising, and was settled with her second husband – John Penrose, whom she married, divorced and then married again, and has since divorced once more in 2007. Her daughter Emma and herself have made peace with each other, and Emma has forged her own very successful career. Anne currently shares her time between her home in London and her place in the Cotswolds, and is now gloriously single once again. Thing’s couldn’t be more perfect.

Where does she go from here? Her progressed Mars, Sun and Mercury are all in Sagittarius and with Mercury in her sixth house of work. It doesn’t look like she is going to stop travelling or working in the near future, she is enjoying her life far too much. In all ways she is broadening her horizons and this phase seems unlikely to come to an end for some time. Her progressed Moon is in Gemini and this may coincide with an even greater desire to write or broadcast, perhaps on a different tack. She is indomitable.

Her recent spell under the surgeon’s knife and her decision to go on a strict diet have honed her looks and given her an added youthfulness and vigour. She swims regularly and runs three and a half miles every other day – which is why she looks so good. She continues to enjoy beautiful clothes, just like her mother and wearing them with style.

Her weakest link – her Sun/Neptune conjunction is going to be tested towards the end of 2009, into 2010 and on into 2011. Transiting Saturn conjuncts both planets on the 11 and 17 of December, then Pluto moves to square both planets in a three part transit over 2010, followed by Uranus opposing the conjunction again in three parts over 2011. She is going to be under a lot of pressure from all sides. This includes the pressure she may put on herself, as well as that coming her way from other people and as part of her job. Just how long can she continue? Something has to give – or to change.

Anne has already discovered that she turns people on with her style of delivery and her jet black outfit. Uranus is the planet of experimental alternatives, so perhaps the ‘Queen Of Mean’ is considering how she can capitalize on this still further. Maybe dominatrix to the power of a hundred! It hardly bears thinking about! 

Uranus is currently moving through her relationship zone which suggests that she is not in the mood to compromise or to want to tolerate anything that does not seem to suit her needs of the moment, even moreso than usual. Madonna wanted to spend more time in America and had been talking of adopting another African child – both of which Guy had issues about. In reality they were probably the tip of the iceberg.

If the time of her birth is to be believed (as there has been some contention about it) - then her fifth house, associated with children is ruled by Saturn, which as noted above is in her fourth house in Sagittarius. So adopting children from another country seems to be something she is naturally drawn to.She has already adopted David Banda from Malawi, who seems to be thriving. Now she is in Malawi, at the tail end of a long procedure, to adopt a young Malawi girl called Mercy to keep David company.

As an aside, I couldn’t help but take a look at Angelina Jolie’s chart to see which aspects might correspond with her desire to not only adopt three children from Cambodia, Ethiopia  and Vietnam, but also to have her own biological children born in other countries than that of her birth, with Shiloh born in Namibia and her twins born in Nice, France. Angelina has a Cancer Ascendant and the Moon, her ruling planet is situated in Aries in the ninth and is conjunct both Mars and Jupiter. Jupiter also conjuncts her Midheaven. The ninth house is associated with interaction with and travel to other countries as part of its meaning, which ties in directly to Angelina’s desire to adopt children from other cultures.

Back to Madonna. The interesting point about this is the timing. Madonna doesn’t seem to be in the most stable of situations having just split with Guy, and recently parted company from toyboy Jesus Luz. She leads a busy life with many work commitments. She also has a twelve year old daughter – Lourdes Maria, from a former relationship with Carlos Leon and a son, Rocco, from her marriage to Guy Ritchie – so with David and Mercy she will have four children on her hands. However she has been thinking and planning this second adoption for some time – roughly two years. She has also been in touch with Mercy’s extended family. Mercy’s eighteen year old mother died shortly after she was born, and her father is also believed to have died.

As Saturn is currently in Virgo and in her first house, this influence can coincide with a desire to take on greater responsibility, which may conflict with her desire for greater freedom in her relationships. Somehow the idea of adding to her family seems to be the way to create stability. With Saturn as ruler of her fifth, there is a strong suggestion that despite ability to be quite outrageous herself, she can be a strict parent – making sure that those in her care grow up strong and healthy, with sound principles to fall back on. Her daughter Lourdes looks happy and well adjusted, confident and in great shape at twelve years old, as do her other children.

Her natal Saturn trines her Sun in Leo, her Part of Fortune and makes a wider trine to her natal Uranus in Leo. Saturn sextiles Chiron in Aquarius in the sixth and bi-quintiles Mars in Taurus in the ninth. Being surrounded by family helps give her life meaning, and gives her a reason to reign herself in, in order to attend to her responsibilities. In other words her family keep her grounded, and bring out another side to her altogether.

Her Sun in Leo suggests that she feels very at home with children as they help to bring out her more gentle, playful and endearing qualities into the open. No matter what has been written about the negative qualities of Madonna, she does have a caring and compassionate side to her, and genuinely likes to help out where she can. Jupiter conjunct Neptune and conjunct her North Node in Libra suggests that compassion paves the way for her to learn more about the art of truly relating to others as they are, as well as helping them to grow into their full potential, and bring their dreams to life. It helps takes the focus off of her. In the second house this conjunction also encourages her to reconsider her values and how they fit in with those of others.

However the adoption process this time around has been more problematic. Mercy’s extended family say they have been pressured to hand the child over to Madonna and they are not entirely happy about it. Malawi is a very Christian country, and they are worried about Madonna’s past and current behaviour even if she is a wealthy celebrity who could give Mercy a life in which she lacks for nothing. She split with Jesus Luz just three weeks before flying out to Malawi, because she heard rumours that the people involved in the adoption procedure were not happy with her. She has brought her three children with her to the country perhaps to show the people that she is a good mother and that her children are all doing fine.

Whatever happens, Madonna with Pluto, Mercury, Ascendant, and Moon conjunction all in Virgo,  is not going to take ‘no’ for an answer. This is the part of her chart which equates with her desire to have her own way at all costs. As an example she is so focused on her daily keep fit regime that she had a treadmill and a personal trainer flown over to Malawi for the duration of her stay. Nothing, it seems, will make her back down. The more difficult the path, the more determined she becomes.

However, despite any problems and despite that she may have to go to extreme lengths to prove herself a suitable parent, it looks as though she is going to be lucky once again – and that she will get her way. Jupiter in Aquarius sextiles her natal Saturn on April 1 and conjuncts her Chiron on April 6, easing the passage. The judgement was deferred until Friday April 2. However, it seems that her efforts are paying off and that something is beginning to give.

Whether she will be able to take Mercy with her right away, or whether there will be conditions set out as part of her adoption procedure is not so clear - but that she will succeed is almost certain. If she is turned down this time, she will keep trying. Saturn squares her natal Saturn once again at the end of July suggesting that there are going to be teething troubles – but for Madonna, the end justifies the means and it will all have been worth it.

UPDATE: April 03 2009 – Sources say Madonna has been denied the right to interim custody. Jupiter is bringing a touch of grace to the situation. She is not going to give up easily. She will fight on.

Sadly there is no accurate time of birth for him, so information will be gleaned from his Solar Chart. He was born on August 29 1958 at Gary, Indiana, USA.

It is probably no surprise to find that Michael is a Virgo with Pluto in Virgo conjunct his Sun, which reveals much about his issues with his body, his appearance, his germ phobia and an altogether overwhelming desire to control every aspect of the environment in which he lives and moves. 

This has been the story so far. But those with Sun/Pluto aspects also have a profound ability to transform their lives, and from out of the ashes of their former selves, to be born again. He has his Moon in Pisces and again depending on what time he was born, it could make a close or wide opposition to the Pluto/Sun conjunction.

This adds another facet to his already complex character as he shuttles between opposite poles of being addicted to power and also succumbing to the depths of powerlessness. His past reveals much about his inner torment, much of which seems to have sprung from his childhood and the treatment metered out by his highly ambitious father to both himself and his siblings. Pluto aspects to personal planets are quite capable of locking a person into an inner hell from which it can be very difficult to escape. 

This time he looked surprisingly good on stage, with a new zest for life and a fresh enthusiasm for his music. Hopefully he will be able to stay the course, as from July when the concerts kick off he is going to need all his strength of mind and body.

However as transiting Pluto will be trining his natal Pluto over 2009, he may come into a new relationship with power and control issues and begin to feel a renewed determination not to let his past hold him back. Transiting Pluto is also going to trining his natal Sun in 2011 – so this whole period from now till then and beyond, is going to be one in which he has an opportunity to recreate himself and to allow his natural flair and musical talent to be his motivation, rather than allowing those powerful inner struggles to twist his sense of purpose and drag him down.

Transiting Saturn is moving through Virgo, the sign of his Sun, and this often equates with a time in which we put ourselves under pressure to do more, achieve more and to be more. During 2008 transiting Uranus squared his natal Saturn in Sagittarius, which may have made him restless and keen to make a leap from out of his reclusive lifestyle back to the stage, for however long it will last. In July 2009 transiting Saturn squares his natal Saturn in the final square before his second Saturn return. This is a time of reflection and a chance to give new form and expression to his previous musical work and stage acts.

The problem is that whenever we make a move out of our inner darkness to the light – the pendulum will continue to swing between the two. Depending on where our attention is placed for the majority of the time – we are set to move more into the light or back into the dark. So it may not all be plain sailing – there may be reversals and problems. But over the year ahead he has a tremendous opportunity to do more for himself and his image than he has in some time.

Transiting Neptune will also be opposing his natal Mercury in Leo – so he will be inspired, but needs to make sure he is not overcommitting himself. He needs to be realistic.

He has been through his Chiron return – with his natal Chiron being in Aquarius, which can signal a renaissance and a renewal. It is often a time when a sense of destiny seems to encourage us to push aside obstacles, allowing us to work out our unique purpose.

His first night in concert is on July 8 – the day after a Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn – it looks like it is going to be a very emotional time for all!
